Back on the Bicycle Again

So, the other day, I received a call from my pastor. He asked me to participate in a bicycle rally next month to benefit the local homeless shelter. It was kind of a no-brainer to answer whether or not to participate, except for the fact that I'm pretty much out of shape. When I got the Harley, I sort of let the Raleigh gather dust.

So, it came out and I oiled the chain, aired up the tires, greased the crank, and started it up. I've been at it for over a week now, and my average speed today was 15.1 mph over a little over 11 miles.

Right, it's a long way to go until I'm up to Lance Armstrong standards; average 25 mph over 1800 miles... but I'm working on it.
